Lent is a seaon of penance, which means we can use self-denial and suffering to draw closer to Jesus. Through fasting, prayer, and almsgiving, we seek to detach ourselves from the ways of the world in order to embrace our Catholic faith more fully. There are many ways to do this! We have listed just a few below for both you and your family!

Since you’ll be printing it on 8.5×11 inch paper,
you’ll have to trim it a little!

You do not need to buy anything to celebrate this season!  But if you’re interested, here are some things we like! Click on the images below to purchase these things from Amazon.

Lenten Devotionals

Much like we do for Advent, we pull out all our Easter books at the start of Lent. The kids can unwrap one each day. These books have a spring time theme or an Easter theme. We keep them out for the whole Easter season too!

Lenten Music

Don’t feel overwhelmed by Lent. Sure, there are many things to do but God meets you where you are at. If I was just dipping my toes into the Lenten season, I would start with praying for a different person or cause each day using the printable to the right. I would involve my kids in this and probably light a candle each day to say who or what we were praying for throughout the day.

Then if I wanted to tackle one more thing, I would either attend a Stations of the Cross at my local parish or I would print them out and do them at home!

Since there were so many great websites that had already compiled kid’s resources, we just wanted to link to our favorites! Don’t feel overwhelmed. Just choose what speaks to you and your family’s situation this Lent!
